Troubleshooting Tips

If you are having trouble with your automatic sprinkler system, here are some things you can check prior to calling our office for a service appointment.

  • Ensure the water has not been turned off to the sprinkler system
  • Ensure you have power at the outlet the controller is plugged into
  • The controller may have a display because of the back-up battery, but will not run the system without power at the outlet
  • If you have power, make sure the proper time of day, start time, station run time and days to water are set on the controller
  • Check the rain sensor, the sensor will over ride the system to conserve water
  • Newer controllers have by-pass switches that can over ride the sensor
  • Ensure a wire has not been cut from landscaping, gardening etc.
